lizz | senior portraits

Today Lizz, our friend Claire, and I ventured up to the Guthrie theater in Minneapolis. Luckily for us, we had a gorgeous day to explore the neighborhood. I think we did really well with the portraits we took; Lizz's silly personality shone through lots of them and her abilities as a ballerina were able to shine through, too. Enjoy the sampling from today's (first!) senior portrait session.

hello hello!

And so ends(?) my hiatus from the world of photo blogging. It's been a busy year! I graduated from high school, worked full time last summer, and began and ended my first year of college. Now that school is out, I've got about one and a half more beautiful weeks of spring/summer left before my next nannying gig starts up again, and hopefully lots of time to take photos.

Throughout the year I've had time to dapple in my photography, though not as often as I'd like. That changed however when my good friend Lizz asked if I could take some senior portraits for her. I think we had fun and did a good job. Expect them later today or possibly tomorrow!

this is goodbye... for now

With the school year at its close, I'm stopping my updates here at Murakami Photo. I currently am not in possession of a high-quality camera, though I intend to purchase one sometime this summer. Until then, it's going to be a summer full of mostly work and as much play as I can manage.

Thank you for stopping by Murakami Photo and for following me, as I know some of my friends outside the photo room have been. I appreciate your support and critique!

I'm leaving you with this video, our final assignment for Digital Photo. I think it sums up my semester in the class. Enjoy! And maybe I'll be back posting unassigned photos this fall. :)

'Til then.

you know what's not fun?

Losing your jump drive. Which happens to contain your in-progress final. And all the photos and edited photos you'd taken this semester.

Here we go, round two...

digital went filmy

Well, these are interesting.

These are some more theme photos. I decided to work with people and made Maria and Bridget model for me. However, I'm no longer using the Nikon, I instead used my dad's Fujifilm Finepix S1000 or whatever it's called. Consequently these all looked weird and grainy once they were converted to b&w. The girls still look fine, I just hate the grain. Enjoy, nonetheless.
